Acquisition Team (2024-25) The John and Geraldine Lilley Museum of Art, USA.
Between 2024 and 2025, based on my expertise in Global South Art, I led the acquisition of the following work as part of the Museum’s task of expanding the collection:
- Cristina García Rodero, four B&W photos from the Rites in Haiti (2000) series, (30.00 x 44.50 in. total). García Rodero is a famous member of Magnum and her Haiti series is one of the best series she has produced
- George Osodi, Delta Conflict (2004) and Delta Rebel 1 (2006), Digital Photography (23.60 x 33.50 in and 33.50 x 23.60 in). This series extended Osodi’s recognition beyond Africa and made of him one of the leading figures of Photography in Africa, developing a photo documentary production blended with an idiosyncratic poetics. I have also an article on this series.
- Navin Rawanchaikul, Fly With Me To Another World (2003), Acrylic on canvas (48.82 x 29.13 in). Rawanchaikul is one of the more important artists from Thailand, and represented the country at the 54th Venice Biennale (2011).
- Huang Yan, Couple Landscape No. 6 (2006), six pieces, Cprint (47.00 x 39.00 in each). These pieces are part of the larger series Chinese Landscapes, where this multimedia artist explores traditional Chinese landscape paintings, using the human body and nudity as centerpieces and breaking from traditions that consider nudity taboo.
Member of the Collection Committee (2026) – The John and Geraldine Lilley Museum of Art, USA.
In 2026, I formally became a member and have continued accompanying the acquisition as well as the other activities and changes taking place at the Museum
